Cancellation Policies

- Social Functions (Picnics, Luncheons, etc.)
- Extended Trips and Cruises
1. Day Trips
After the payment due date, no refund can be made for cancellations unless someone from the waiting list replaces you, or unless you are able to find your own replacement. Theaters will not refund tickets for any reason once we have paid. Please realize that we are not interested in ‘keeping your money’. If we have already paid for tickets, then we don’t have your money to keep. Also, we still have to pay the same amount for the bus, even if the bus is less than full. We cannot justify giving a refund if we are already going to lose money on the trip.

2. Social Functions (Picnics, Luncheons, etc.)
We have to pay for the number committed one week from the date of the function. Therefore, we are unable to refund for cancellations within one week of the function date, unless we have a waiting list and someone is able to replace you, or unless you can provide your own replacement.

3. Extended Trips and Cruises
Cancellation policies for extended trips vary, and are dictated by the tour companies with whom each trip is booked. We try to book as many as possible with Collette Vacations because they have the most liberal cancellation policies, and cancellation/medical insurance is always included. Also, their claims procedure is the simplest and most hassle-free; cancellation can be made for any reason, with no need for a doctor’s statement. Most other companies make you file an insurance claim to obtain a refund, and cancellation can only be claimed if medically necessary and verified by a doctor, and you have to prove that you took the insurance when you first booked the trip. While no one ever books a trip with the intention of canceling, situations often arise that are beyond the traveler’s control (like car accidents, sudden ill health, or death in the family). Therefore, cancellation and medical insurance are offered and highly recommended for all extended trips to prevent a substantial financial loss. Most companies require the insurance to be taken within 10-14 days of making your initial deposit. Most travelers that elect to “think about insurance” very rarely come back to take the insurance until they have a problem to claim, and then it’s too late.
