16th Annual Chili Cookoff Raises $9,179.95 for Ready Set School

A grand total of $9,179.95 was raised for Ready Set School at the 16th Annual Chili Cookoff, sponsored by Winona National Bank on Saturday, February 13. The event raised $2,179.95 in sales and $7,000 in additional donations. A large crowd enjoyed chili from area restaurants, and entertainment was provided by Minnesota Genbu-Kai Karate.

Bears & Blankets Raises 443 Items for Local Organizations

Winona National Bank gave comfort to those in need on Wednesday, December 16, delivering 443 items collected through its annual Bears & Blankets campaign. Overall, 217 bears and 226 blankets were donated, surpassing the marks of 213 bears and 211 blankets (424 total) collected in 2008.

July Concert Raises $909.59 for Ready Set School

Winona National Bank held its final Summer Concert on July 17 in Central Park. Despite the unseasonably cold weather, the event drew a crowd of over 800. The concert featured The St. Croix Knitwits as well as the famous $1 lunch. With lunch sales totaling $818.50 and donations of $91.09, the concert raised $909.59 for Ready Set School.

June Concert Raises $1,726.59 for Friends of the Library

Winona National Bank held its first of two summer concerts on June 19, drawing a crowd of over 2,500. The concert featured The Teddy Bear Band as well as the famous $1 lunch and $1 root beer floats. After selling 1,400 hot dogs and hundreds of root beer floats, the concert raised $1,726.59 for The Friends of the Winona Public Library.

Employees of Winona National Bank helped keep Winona beautiful Wednesday night with its Spring Road Clean-Up. The group picked up garbage from the roadside on West Lake Boulevard. The stretch of road was adopted by Winona National as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program.
